game chapter 6
by duckIn this world, alongside medicine and science, ancient magic also existed. It was said to be parasitic, residing in plants and only transferable through blood.
I used a mysterious purple flower as a medium for my illusions. The strange thing was, I had never once offered my blood to this ominous flower.
“I’m still practicing every day.”
“What stage are you at?”
“Hmm…stage three?”
Stage three involved showing the target their deepest fears, and the final stage was partially manifesting those illusions into reality.
Scior seemed to lose interest in my lack of progress and changed the subject.
“You’ll improve in time. Before we begin the main lesson, I have a question. What is Kal’s specialty?”
“Sharpshooting, without a doubt.”
“Indeed. Kal is not only an excellent commander but also a natural marksman. What about Raphelt?”
“Beating people to a pulp?”
“Close…Raphelt excels in hand-to-hand combat using blunt weapons and taking on multiple opponents.”
I once asked Raphelt why he fought without weapons. He’d simply replied that it intensified the impact.
Scior, whose specialty was close-quarters combat, often handled high-paying assassination contracts.
“Ren, you’re a former spy who uses illusions to extract enemy secrets.”
Scior tilted his head, a thoughtful expression on his face. His voice, as always, was a mesmerizing, languid melody.
“The Boss has instructed me to teach you how to handle throwing knives. He’s likely anticipating the possibility of us partnering on missions in the future.”
I had been an executive of the organization since I woke up in this world. Ren was known for her exceptional spying skills, but those weren’t truly mine.
The strange thing was, when I woke up in that bed a year ago, no one questioned my lack of skill.
Even Muscalt treated me with caution, and Raphelt meticulously taught me everything.
I was able to adapt to the organization without being ridiculed, all thanks to those who supported me.
But unlike the other executives, I rarely went on “business trips” or “missions.” I mostly handled administrative tasks like managing the greenhouse’s poisonous plants or dealing with the black market trade of weapons and drugs.
That’s why Scior’s words made me nervous. An official mission!
“Yes, leave it to me.”
I hid my apprehension and waited for his instructions. His bright blue eyes suddenly flashed with a sharp glint. The intensity of his gaze sent a shiver down my spine, making me involuntarily shrink back.
‘Why is he looking at me like that…?’
I swallowed nervously.
What was he planning to make me do? All sorts of worst-case scenarios flooded my mind.
He rested his chin on his hand, his gaze fixed on me with an unsettling intensity, before finally speaking.
“Seduce me, Ren.”

“….”
I thought I’d misheard him. I asked him to repeat himself, and Scior echoed the same absurd request.
“Why, don’t you think you can?”
Raphelt’s advice suddenly flashed through my mind.
“If Scior tries anything funny, just kick him where it hurts. That guy is impossible to read.”
So, this was it. He wanted me to…seduce him?
‘I had a feeling, calling me at this late hour.’
I gritted my teeth, my hands trembling as I glared at Scior. He simply raised an eyebrow, his expression a mask of arrogance, as if asking why I hadn’t started yet.
“Should I take my clothes off?”
“If you’re confident.”
His nonchalant reply left me speechless. Even if I was the youngest female executive, this was utterly disgusting.
Making me do something like this…it said a lot about the Boss, too.
But this was Absinthe.
The empire’s largest, most powerful mafia. If you became useless, you were discarded without a second thought.
“Perhaps I should demonstrate first, Ren?”
A wicked curve played on his lips. Unlike someone else I knew, his eyes held an air of supreme confidence.
“You seem to be enjoying this.”
“Yes, well.”
“…….”
“Excuse me.”
Suddenly, the distance between us closed. Scior’s arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me back against him. The air thickened, making it hard to breathe. His warm breath grazed my ear.
I stifled a scream, bracing myself against the wall.
Then, his lips trailed down my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. I couldn’t help but let out a soft moan.
“Wait a minute…”
It was then that I felt a sharp prick behind my ear.
“Ah…!”
I winced, pushing Scior away. He released me without resistance.
“What was that?”
He held out a thin, silver needle.
“Your reaction was rather cute. I got a little carried away.”
He twirled the needle between his fingers, his tone indifferent.
“So, what is that?”
“A poisoned needle. Of course, right now it’s just a harmless silver needle…I’ll teach you how to use it eventually.”
“A new weapon?”
“Yes. Your job isn’t to put on a striptease for some man. You’re not learning seduction techniques. You just need to lure the target in, lower their guard. This is the real objective.”
He took my hand, turning it palm up, and placed a silver needle on it.
“Assassination?”
“You could say that. This needle is specially designed to be visible only in darkness, for emergencies. That’s why this lesson had to be scheduled so late. My apologies.”
His expression clearly said, ‘I know what kind of ridiculous fantasies you were having.’
“Frankly, you seem to have no talent for seduction.”
